Ten hopefuls are in the mix for the $200,000 Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) on Saturday that is set to run as Randwick Race 6 at 3:50pm (AEDT) on Chipping Norton Stakes Day 2017.
Hot favourite for the win in the latest Surround Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au is the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Global Glamour ($2.60).
Not hard to see why the money is on this Star Witness filly.
She is a dual Group 1 winner across two states at a mile during the spring and won again last start taking out the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.
Did it tough from barrier 12 of 14 for that traditional Surround Stakes lead-up and now she is back in winning form, from barrier two on the weekend will be very hard to hold out.
If something does get the better of Global Glamour in the Surround Stakes results, the bookies are tipping it to come for the Chris Waller stable.
Waller is in the focus at the meeting with Winx shooting for her 15th win on the trot in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m).
He will also be keen to see how his Golden Rose runner-up Omei Sword ($4) comes back in a delayed return to the track in the Surround Stakes.
Foxplay is the stablemate in the outside alley also being kept safe in the Surround Stakes betting markets at $5 after her smart second in the Light Fingers Stakes.

#2 Foxplay ($5)
Going with the Waller form in this and putting the nicely-bred grey daughter of Foxwedge on top. She has a wide alley to overcome in a blow, but think she is classier than some suggest. Dual Group 2 winner at Randwick last September and will eat-up the extra metres here off the Light Fingers Stakes when beaten the barest of margins. 1400m is her go (3-2-1-0), Randwick is her track and sheâll be fitter off the first-up run. Value of the Waller duo.

#1 Global Glamour ($2.60)
No denying the class and ability and form of this Waterhouse-trained Flight Stakes â Thousand Guineas winning filly. She was ultra-impressive third-up in the Light Fingers Stakes and will get a cleaner run here making her the obvious danger. Winning form up to 1600m so the 1400m is a non-issue and Josh Parr retains the ride from the gun barrier (2).
3rd
#5 Spright ($9.50)
Hard to leave Omei Sword out, but she might just be cooked after the minor injury setback or simply need the run. Love the odds offered on this Garry Frazer-trained daughter of Hinchinbrook who was on a winning streak in the spring that included a Flemington Group 3. Returned in the Light Fingers for third, form weâre saying will stack up here. Good odds with a genuine chance to prove herself over this distance.
