The Guy Walter Stakes 2017 is set to take place at Royal Randwick after Winx runs in the Chipping Norton Stakes on Saturday, betting tips and the latest odds on the maresâ only race found below.

Due to jump as Randwick Race 8 at 5:10pm (AEDT), the field for this yearâs $200,000 Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) is down to nine runners after the early scratching of #5 Thames Court (10) and #9 Press Report (7).
Leading the updated Guy Walter Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au paying $3.20 in an open field is the market mover Dixie Blossoms ($3.20) racing second-up from barrier nine (into eight).
Tim Clark rides Ron Quintonâs consistent four-year-old who shares a sire with Winx (Street Sense) and who was last seen placing a quarter-length back third at the track in the Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200m).
She gets out over 1400m second-up and with winning form up to a mile in Group 3 company and the nice fourth when under a length off I Am A Star in the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) during the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the increase in distance will suit a treat.
Hot on her heels in Guy Walter Stakes betting paying $3.60 and drawn out in the far barrier is Danish Twist who was right on the heels of the placegetters in her first-up Group 2 Breeders Classic (1400m) fourth at the start of the month.
She is another that will eat up the extra 200m this weekend, the Kris Lees-trained Dane Shadow five-year-old boasting outstanding form over 1400m (10-4-3-1).
The other best in betting is Group 1 winner First Seal ($4.20) for John Thompson, the five-year-old all class and coming of a Warwick Farm trial win from February 20.
So will the top three in the markets salute in the Guy Walter Stakes 2017 trifecta or is there value further down the markets from the likes of Flippant ($8) with the gun barrier three draw or Happy Hannah ($15) as the blowout pick for Team Snowden?

#3 Danish Twist ($3.60)
Has the outside barrier to overcome but the class and record here to do so. The first-up Breeders Classic fourth at the track saw her finish only 1.2 lengths off the winner In Her Time who franked the form winning the Millie Fox Stakes last weekend. Happy to stick with that nice maresâ formline into this especially considering Danish Twist will be better at 1400m (10-4-3-1). Has been a while between wins so is overdue

#1 First Seal ($4.20)
Class alone makes this Group 1 winner a must-include. Sheâll get things her way from the nice barrier four draw and goes well fresh (5-2-1-0). Comes off a winning trial at 1200m and won the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes over these metres in the spring. Randwick holds no fears (7-2-3-0) and won the Millie Fox when resuming last time in.

#7 Happy Hannah ($15)
Over the odds is this perennial third placegetter for Team Snowden. The four-year-old daughter of More Than Ready rounded out three straight trifectas in nice company last season including the Angst Stakes third to Dixie Blossoms at Randwick in October. Group 2 placed at Flemington over 2000m last time, has trialled at this track since and will improve on whatever she does here.
