Winx is out to jump the shortest-priced favourite in over five decades this weekend in the 2017 Chipping Norton Stakes and is out to avoid the curse of Ajax in the weight-for-age autumn classic.

In pre-field markets on the $600,000 Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick through Ladbrokes.com.au for this Saturday, the Chris Waller-trained Winx is already odds-on at $1.10 for the win.
She took out the Apollo Stakes â Chipping Norton Stakes double last autumn and success on Saturday for the punters will see the star daughter of Street Cry do the same again in 2017.
The gun five-year-old has nine Group 1 wins on the record to date and comes off a 14-straight winning streak, the punters coming for her in the Chipping Norton Stakes odds despite the short price.
If Winx jumps at that price or firms, she will be the shortest priced Chipping Norton Stakes betting favourite since Valerius who won the 1961 edition at $1.03 (33/1 on).
The curse of Ajax hangs over her head however, the former champion galloper having won 18 races on the trot before going down to Spear Chief in a three-horse edition of the Chipping Norton Stakes back in 1939.
Then run as the Rawson Stakes, Ajax jumped the $1.02 (40/1 on) favourite but was defeated by a half-length.
Winx however doesnât look like she will suffer the same fate and her winning streak looks set to continue this weekend and further.
The worldâs best racehorse, she hasnât been defeated since April of 2015 and the only other galloper rated a chance of scoring the massive upset is regular foe Hartnell ($8).
John OâSheaâs import comes up against Winx for a sixth time on the weekend on the back of the Apollo Stakes second first-up.
The only scheduled autumn assignment for Hartnell where he wonât come up against the seemingly unbeatable Winx is the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on Golden Slipper Stakes Day, March 18.
Winx will run on the same day in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m), a race Waller has won four times in the past seven years including with his stable ace in 2016.
Hartnell will then come up against his perennial conqueror in an autumn grand final at Randwick on April 8 in the $4 million Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).
All-in Queen Elizabeth Stakes betting as Winx at $1.45 to take out the lucrative The Championshipsâ clash, while Hartnell is the $10 second elect.
